    HIMOINSA opens a new factory for Argentina and Southern Cone

    Located in Santa Fe and occupying some 12,000 square metres, the new centre has the capacity to produce 3,000 generator sets of between 8kVA and 1745kVA each year. Fitted with Cramaco alternators, these generator sets will be wholly manufactured in Argentina and sold both there and in the markets of Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia.


    The new Santa Fe factory has been equipped with the latest technology for the manufacture of all generator set components from Cramaco alternators, to canopies, control panels, automatic transfer switches and parallel operating systems. 

    As a result, HIMOINSA Argentina & Cono Sur integrates every phase of the productive process, from design and engineering to sales. Manufactured locally, the final product benefits from the experience of an international company that operates throughout the world. 



    Generator sets 8kVA - 1745kVA 

    The generator sets that are manufactured in Argentina have a power range of from 8kVA to 1745kVA. These generator sets, which feature Yanmar, FPT and Mitsubishi engines and Cramaco alternators made in the same production centre in Santa Fe, are destined to meet the demand of such sectors as Telecommunications, Mining, Construction, Industry, Rental and Oil & Gas.The company also offers gas-powered generator sets with Yanmar and PSI engines.



    HIMOINSA has fully integrated the manufacture of alternators with a frequency of 50Hz or 60Hz ever since it purchased Cramaco in 2004. 

    Cramaco alternators feature shortened 2/3 phase windings that guarantee low harmonic distortion with a value of 4% (THD) by phase voltage and with three-phase linear loads. This prevents any damage to the units and provides greater operational safety and efficiency. 

    Rafael Acosta, Business Units Director, Americas assures us that “we have completed the vertical manufacture of generator sets in Argentina”. “We are now able to offer the same quality for which our manufacturing process is renowned throughout the world, with a more flexible local service adapted to the idiosyncrasies of the markets in Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay”. 

    HIMOINSA Argentina & Cono Sur employ some 120 people in the region, including a highly experienced team of Engineers who design all the power generating products and adapt them to the requirements of each project. 




    Advanced technology | Vertical manufacturer

    HIMOINSA manufactures its gensets in Argentina using state-of-the-art technology to paint, soundproof and treat metal parts. The treatment of these metal parts is totally controlled and automated:



    Laser cutting, Water Jet cutting and punching.

    Panelling and bending either manual or assisted by an anthropomorphous robot.

    Manual and robotic welding process (MIG/MAG, TIG…)

    Polyester paint application line and liquid painting booth.

    The chassis of the generator set is leak-proof and has a containment function for engine liquids. 
    Noise and thermic insulation is ensured by 160kg/m3 high density 45 and 50mm thick volcanic rockwool.

    The new Argentinian factory designs and produces advanced controller systems for generator sets. The company's specialized Engineering team manufactures locally all the electronics and control panels for the generator sets produced by HIMOINSA Argentina & Cono Sur.
