    HIMOINSA supplies emergency power to the new Palawan airport in the Philippines

    The generator set will start up in the event of any mains failure, providing power for such vital areas as the airport's control tower or the main terminal building. It will also illuminate the runway of this gateway to one of the seven Wonders of Nature.


    Located on the island of Palawan in the Philippines and with an eco-friendly architectural design, the Puerto Princesa International Airport is the gateway to one of nature's seven wonders: the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. 

    The recent extension or the Puerto Princesa International Airport was inaugurated last week, on 3rd May 2017 and will allow traffic through the airport to grow to around two million passengers, enabling it to cope with the increasing numbers of tourists visiting the island. 



    The generator set that HIMOINSA has supplied to this airport, through its distributor Prime Power Energy System, will guarantee the safety of the infrastructure and an ongoing supply of power to such areas as the control tower or the navigational aid systems. The model in question is an open skid HTW-1525 T6, with a Mitsubishi engine providing up to 1900 kVA of emergency power. In the event of a power cut, the unit also illuminates the runway and provides a safe and reliable supply of power to the terminal building and the cargo centre. It is also prepared to withstand the tropical climate of the island of Palawan.

    The exotic archipielago of Palawan is a top holiday location. Its clear blue waters and its great diving offering, have awarded the island with the Traveler’s vote of Best Island in the World for the second time in a row in 2016.
